We extend our sympathy towards anyone impacted by the virus and reaching out to update you on how we are approaching this situation. We are prepared to prevent interruption of inventory supplies.
Due to the cyclic nature of electric bike business, we place continuous orders throughout the year. We stock the highest value of inventory by January each year, which means our inventory will still be in good shape until the end of April.
Since early stages of COVID-19 situation in China, Japan and Korea, we have had frequent follow ups with all suppliers. Among 12 major overseas component suppliers, only two were located in areas affected by the virus. We anticipated long interruptions in manufacturing in those areas and through diligent research, we were able to find alternatives in safer areas. Within one month, we transferred the drawings, specs and standards to the two new factories to prepare them for manufacturing our next orders.
We have also ordered some battery short SKUs by express air shipping; costly but effective.
With such measures, we are optimistic we will not have big interruptions in our major line of products this spring. Please note, we still anticipate a 2-3 week gap for a few battery, motor or electric bicycle SKUs as well as delay caused by transportation deficiencies and Port of Vancouver.
