These batteries, either LG or Panasonic Li-Ion cells, come with a protective BMS to prevent overcharging and overloading, enhancing their lifespan. Additionally, they are designed to perform efficiently in cold temperatures. Both batteries are UL certified.

Not as simple as it seems.

The tools came with the e-trike we ordered but it is very heavy and came I assembled in a huge box. It was dropped off in the pouring rain in my front yard. Luckily I have an electric lift to lift it up onto my front porch, a neighbour man helped me drag it onto a lift. We live in a small town with no bicycle shop. I am female and hired a man who was used to working on bikes to come my house and it took him close to four hours to assemble it. Because we ordered it online we couldn’t try it first. In the end my husband, who we bought it for can’t ride it. And, because it took 4 hours to assemble I can’t see how I can return it.

Bike assembly

I removed all main parts from the box.
What I found in the bottom of the box was a locking nut and three rings about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. I did not find a spot for the locking nut. The three rings were a different story, one of the rings had bearings. I immediately thought it had something to do with the installation of the front forks. I tried installing the front forks and they were way too loose and flopping around in the shaft. The three rings belonged to the bottom of the front main shaft where the front forks get installed. The next issue was gear changing (7 gears). Most gears did not work at all. I would have expected the gears to work properly as this part of the bike was already assembled. The screws were too short for the fender installation. I lost one screw on my second ride.
Just as a side note, nothing to do with assembly. I find the trike flexes a lot. The centre of gravity is quite high so the main bike really flexes. I feel the bike frame should be stiffed up. I brought the seat down to lower the centre of gravity.

3 stars due to poor assembly instructions

A lack of proper instructions - especially from a dearth of photos in close up and in proper lighting, caused us to get a bike technician involved. Had to check again to verify that there was no photo to illustrate this one line in the 13 line paragraph" "Remove the pad spacer provided in the brake caliber." This 1.5 inch square of plastic prevented us from fitting the front wheel onto the forks. Overlooked on our part. It would be reassuring if EBIKE could provide instructions at the level of an IKEA book shelf assembly complete with illustrations rather than poorly lit black and white photos that appear mostly in the dark and in medium shot. Mainframe also arrived with a long scratch due to inadequate packaging. EBIKE compensated by providing some touch up paint and a $50 credit. Still, the scratch will remain on the silver lettering as a reminder of this shopping experience. The bike was purchased for indoor use for 2 years and so, I can't comment on its performance in electric mode. As a pedal pusher, it seems like any other bike and runs smoothly on a level floor surface.

Bike was only delivered on 9/ 27. Bike was in Canpars Montreal terminal for 5 days without it being delivered.Assembly: Had a lot of difficulty getting the back fenders installed so they were not rubbing on the tires. One of the thread inserts on the rear basket the brackets attach to ended up pulling out. Took it out for a sh9ort ride this past Sunday was very happy. Went back out today for a grocery run and after about 3km there was a clunk and the drive stopped. Could not get the bike to move peddling or on the motor. The motor is rotating freely but the sprocket to the rear axle appears to have fallen off the end of the motor and the drive is not engaging. Was left walking the bike home. I bought the trike because I am recovering from a broken hip in August and want something 'safer' to ride.Just got the OK last week to get off crutches and walk again. It was exhausting and painful walking the bike home. Not sure what has broken on the moor but if you could get your tech support to call me with a fix.

The Flex E Trike

It's probably been 40 years since I've been on a bike. Needed some exercise outdoors so when I seen this baby advertised on the Web, I jumped at it. So far it is living up to expectations and I'm loving it.
