What makes an e-bike "women-specific"?

Women-specific e-bikes typically feature step-through or low-step frames for easy mounting, shorter reach to the handlebars, narrower handlebar width, saddles designed for wider sit bones, and lighter overall weight. These adjustments improve comfort and control for riders with a shorter torso or narrower shoulder width.

Do women's e-bikes have less powerful motors?

Not necessarily — women-specific models often use the same 250W–500W motors as unisex bikes. The difference is in fit and geometry, not motor output. Many women riders prefer 500W motors for BC's hills regardless of the bike's specific geometry classification.

Are step-through frames structurally as strong as diamond frames?

What size e-bike do I need?

Most manufacturers provide size charts based on inseam and height. As a general guide: under 5'3" suits XS/S frames, 5'3"–5'7" suits S/M, 5'7"–5'11" suits M/L. Many women's step-through models are highly adjustable and suit a wider range of rider heights.
