STYLE AND DESIGN

Both the ENVO and Pedego bikes have attractive, sleek designs, although they use different design languages. This means that they have their own unique style and visual appeal, and which one you prefer may depend on your personal taste. Both bikes are visually appealing and well-designed, however, so you can't go wrong with either one. Another design element that distinguishes the two is that ENVO uses a non-integrated battery, while Pedego uses a fully-integrated one.

ERGONOMICS

In designing the ENVO D35, engineers have accounted for different age/gender groups by making their model in 3 sizes. Therefore, a wider range of customers can enjoy riding it. On the other hand, Pedego comes in 2 sizes, which means some buyers will not feel as comfortable as they should.

PERFORMANCE AND TORQUE

ENVO D35 and Pedego fall into the class 2 category, and that's why they exhibit similar performance and torque. Generally, class 2 ebikes are throttle-assisted with a maximum speed of 20 mph.

RANGE AND EFFICIENCY

Regarding range and efficiency, we should consider weight and electrical system. Lighter bikes and a more efficient electrical system will affect the final performance of your ebike. Despite both Pedego and D35 from Envo having a similar range, Pedego scores lower due to its higher weight and less-than-optimum electrical system.

CONTROL AND MONITORING

In this category, too both bikes have a display for monitoring essential functions. However, these displays are different! As that of the ENVO D35 has a color TFT display, while Pedego's is a black-and-white display.

Using D35's display, you have access to parameter settings, monitoring, visualization, and self-diagnostics. So, generally speaking, the TFT display of D35 is more user-friendly and customizable.

COMPONENT GRADE

The grade of the components of two ebikes is yet another differentiating factor. We believe that using mid-tier grade components for Pedego Avenue has affected its overall quality. While Envo, as always, has had an eye for quality by using top-of-the-line components.

BRAKING PERFORMANCE

One area where the ENVO D35 clearly outperforms the Pedego Avenue is in braking performance. The ENVO D35 is equipped with hydraulic brakes, which provide a smoother and more effective braking experience than the mechanical brakes used on the Pedego Avenue. This means that the ENVO D35 can stop more quickly and smoothly, making it a safer and more comfortable ride.

Weight

Everyone knows that weight is a crucial factor in deciding to buy an ebike, especially if you are going to use it more often or for riding through a mountain and rough terrain where more energy is required.

Both Envo D35 and Pedego Avenue have more or less similar weights. However, considering the fact that D35 has many accessories on it, you have the option to make the bike lighter bu taking off these accessories.

SERVICEABILITY AND SPARE PARTS

Envo D35 and Pedego have industry-standard mechanical and structural components. It means you can easily find their spare parts at almost every store with a reasonable price tag. However, its modular design, which allows customers to benefit from readily-available services, counts as a slight advantage for ENVO.

Access to Service Centers

BothEnvo and Pedego have extensive dealer network that gives you access to spare parts and repair services.

ACCESSORIES INCLUDED

The list of the accessories installed on the ENVO D35 contains a rear carrier, fender, kickstand, and suspension seat post, among others. Pedego Avenue, on the other hand, doesn't include fenders or any suspension post. Therefore, you can expect a lesser smooth experience when riding on it, especially on rough terrains.

TRANSPORT AND STORAGE

When it comes to weight, the Pedego Avenue may be more difficult to handle and transport due to its heavier frame. At more than 50 lbs, the Pedego Avenue is close to the weight limit for many bike carriers, which can make it harder to store or transport on the back of your vehicle. In comparison, the ENVO D35 is lighter, which makes it easier to handle and maneuver. This difference in weight can be an important factor to consider if you plan on frequently transporting or storing your e-bike.

TRANSMISSION RELIABILITY

Both the Pedego Avenue and the ENVO D35 are equipped with hub motors. These motors are sealed, which makes them reliable and long-lasting, with a lifespan of between 3 to 7 years. Another advantage of hub motors over mid-drive systems is their ability to provide power to the bike even if the chain were to break. This means that you can still safely operate the e-bike using the throttle if you encounter an issue on the road.

Price

It is interesting to note that the Pedego Avenue is priced significantly higher than the ENVO D35, despite using lower quality components in some cases. It is unclear why this is the case, but it is worth considering when deciding which e-bike is the best value for your money. While the Pedego Avenue may have some appealing features, the ENVO D35 offers a higher quality product at a lower price point.

Conclusion

Comparing two ebikes, namely D35 from Envo and Pedego Avenue, shows that although both bikes are similar in transmission, reliability, performance, and torque, there are significant differences.

For example, D35 is lighter, with more advanced accessories and good-grade parts, while Pedego Avenue feels heavier, with components' grade of less than optimum and serviceability.
